Goes out to Sage, Kelseys best friend, and all others starting school:)

A Mom's Prayer On the First Day of School

Here we are again, Lord. Their backpacks are loaded and their faces are scrubbed and their lunch accounts are full.
And I know you'll walk with them, Lord. You always do. But a mom…a dad….still has to ask.
Will You walk with them? Will You whisper to them what they need to hear, when I'm not there to whisper it?
Will You please, oh please, cover their school with the protection only You can give, and will You keep harm far away?
Will You make their minds strong and ready to learn? Will You help them understand that hard work honors the One who created them?
Will You guide their teachers, giving them patience and wisdom and creativity and more patience? Will You bless them for their efforts?
Will You love all those children there, the ones whose lunch accounts aren't full, the ones who feel alone? Will You teach my children to be kind and unselfish and to love those who are different from them?
Will You point them back toward home just as soon as you can?
Lord, I give them to You today and everyday, trusting them to Your care.
Amen
(got this from one of kailyns/kelseys mothers day out teachers and thought it was PRECIOUS)

my biggest struggle...

resting in God is for sure my biggest struggle...worrying, contemplating every senario or situation, ect....but just had to share...again from Battlefield of the Mind (yes it is taking me an eternity to get through this book:))...Being at peace, enjoying the rest of God in the midst of the storm, gives much glory to the Lord because it proves that His ways work (p127)....
Our pastor, Matt, did a sermon on Sunday about living for Christ fully...how that is all he wants...w/ all of our my mind, strenth, soul to live for Him....i have been so desperatly struggling w/ exactly how that looks and just being at rest in Jesus and not having to know or see a "perfect" picture of that. also another great quote from her book "Jesus did not come to remove all oppostion from our lives, but rather to give us a different approach to the storms of life" (p 127) I have definitly been going through some storms but wow what a great quote...we are going to go through storms daily but having Jesus is the only way to get through them...we DO live in a sinful FALLEN world and thank goodness He gave us HOPE!:)
oh...one more...The proud man is full of himself, while the humble man is full of God. The proud man worries; the humble man waits. (p 126) see how it is taking me forever... i have to think so much after every page and then all of the beautiful interuptions of two little girls:::)))))) anyway it truely is a really good book...

summer is over:(

so summer has been officially over for a few weeks now but things are starting to get back to routine...Kelsey and Kailyn are all over the olymipics or should i say shawn johnson, the gymnast! They LOVE watching her and try to do everything she does off of our furniture...the one positive is janson is praying that they each pick indoor sports/activities...since he is in the heat all day he would much prefer be indoors:) he has "races" w/ them every night throughout the house...we can already tell that kelsey DOES not like to loose...they are also very excited about starting their ryan raider cheerleading season again...or they think:)haha! they were sooo excited b/c they got to have their pic w/ the ryan raider cheerleading squad...like seriously you would have thought they went to disney world:)) so yes if you have a little girl save your money and just take them to see cheerleaders at a football game...anyway here are a few pics of my gymnast/cheerleaders...and yes that one is of them jumping on the bed doing their somersaults so dont judge...we are rule breakers over here!

great book...

Joyce Meyer...Battlefield of the Mind
tarrah and i are reading this book and it is really opening my eyes to so many things...quote for the week!
"It is important to understand that the mind needs to be kept in the 'normal' condition. Compare it with the usual condition of our minds and you will see why we frequently have very little revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, and why far too often we feel ourselves lacking in wesdom and revelation. "
"Remember, the Holy Spirit attempts to enlighten the mind of the believer. The HOly Spirit gives information from God to the person's spirit, and if his spirit and mind are aiding one another then he can walk in devine wisdom and revelation. But if his mind is too busy, it will miss what the Lord is attempting to reveal to him through his spirit."
this just really hit me...there is so many times that i am wanting the Lord to speak to me and 'like, where are you???' but my mind is so crowded and busy w/ everything else that even if he was speaking to me i would not be able to hear him....love it!
also falling that is pg 81 talks about 1Kings 19:12....."a still small voice" being God....
okay so one more thing.... love this!!!!
on pg. 84 it says...
"Satan, of course, knows this fact, so he attacks your mind, waging war against you on the battlefield of your mind. He wants to overload and overwork your mind by filling it with every kind of wrong thought so it cannot be free and available to the Holy Spirit working through your own human spirit." just makes me so mad b/c sooo true:))))
